The Department of Interior and Local Government as an oversight agency has been formulating new methods and has improved the Assistance to Municipalities (AM) project monitoring system year after year. This is to guarantee that citizens and LGUs will be able to access information and will provide the necessary feedback that would improve the delivery of government services.

On September 13-14, 2018, DILG Region 6, together with the SLGP-Project Management Office (SLGP-PMO), conducted a Regional Roll-out and Training of Trainers for the Development LIVE (DevLIVE) Online Reporting and Citizen Feedback Platform. The AM Program Coordination Teams, Project Development and Management Units (PDMU), Cluster Heads, and AM Focal Persons from the DILG Regional, and Provincial Offices attended the activity.

DILG Region 6 Assistant Regional Director, Maria Calpiza J. Sardua, CESO V welcomed the participants. In her message, she emphasized the vital role that the trainers will play for the success of the DevLIVE Platform.

The DevLive Platform will provide a more available and efficient system of reporting with the use of the internet. Through this, LGUs will find it easier to process and transfer relevant information related to the implementation of AM projects. It will also maximize and strengthen citizen participation by providing a venue to contribute to the monitoring process through feedback and real-time project status information using their mobile devices. The citizen feedback form available online. This can be accessed in the DevLIVE Application that could be downloaded on a smartphone.

The application contains all the relevant information of the project, e.g. the total amount allocation, current financial and physical accomplishments, up-to-date image that the user could directly upload using their camera phones, etc.

In this training, the participants had the chance to be familiar with the system interface and user roles. This capacitated them to provide technical assistance and to conduct the same training to the LGU personnel who will be doing the online reporting and project monitoring. All LGUs will eventually be using the platform to run correspondence on all Assistance to Municipality projects.
